Our 2011 AGM was held in the "Town House Hotel",Naas,Co.Kildare.Proceedings got underway at 16:30 after a reception of tea & biscuits,kindly laid on by the management of the hotel.
Attendance wasn't what we expected,with only 14 members in total on the day.Nonetheless,the meeting went well with all agenda topics covered...
With so much emphasis on re-cylcling and the high costs of printing,we decided on a Powerpoint presentation at the meeting.I'm glad to report that this went well and we hope to continue with this format for future meetings..(Please see the attached link below).
Dinner was served at 19:00 after which,we retired to the lounge for some music,drinks and chat into the wee hours of morning.We were fortunate it was the Bank Holiday weekend
as we gained an extra hour in bed Sunday morning.
We are glad to welcome to the committee,Donagh & Catherine Lane.They have volunteered to take on the Club's treasurery role for the new season.Rita has decided to step down as our treasurer but will remain on the committee to keep a watchful eye on proceedings.Many thanks to Rita for her diligence and hard work in looking after our financial affairs for the past three years.
The remainder of the committee remains unchanged bar one exception with respect to the Membership Secretary.I will be taking care of this along with the Webmaster role.Denis McCarthy
remains as Chairman and Maureen Dillon as Secretary.
As with previous AGM's,we try include a run to some event or place of interest.This year,we attended "Toghers Auto Jumble" on the Sunday afternoon.This is situated only a few minutes drive from Naas.The show was very well attended on the day,with anything from a needle to an anchor available.I had the good fortune of buying some needed bits at bargain prices.You have to be able to "haggle"...It's well worth the effort....
