Maureen bought "Betsy" a 1969 2 door Saloon approx. 12 years ago. It was her first car. The car has had a complete make-over complete with pearlescent paint, 5-speed gearbox, disc brakes, 3 branch manifold exhaust, Wolfrace alloys, front spoiler with LED lights, anti-roll bar, blue lights underneath, flashing lights as valve covers on tyres, chrome glove box surrounds, CD player, cigarette lighter (for sat nav and phone charger!) modern temperature gauge, recovered interior panels, and "Betsy" written across the boot.

"I joined the club nearly ten years ago whilst my Morris Minor was under restoration. It took a further two years before anyone got to see the completed project. It even got to the stage that people questioned whether I did, in fact, have said vehicle. But I'm glad to report that their doubts were answered.
All in all, it took nearly 20 years to complete the restoration of my 1968 2dr saloon. In my defence and I'm sure that others will appreciate, that there were long spells when the car wasn't touched. Times like, getting married, raising a family and also the all important financial constraints. Luckily, all the parts needed were purchased long before wedding bells rang out.
It was quite by accident that I got to know of the club's existance and this was by meeting the chairman, Mr.Noel Williams. Noel had a carpet cleaning business at the time and he was summoned to a house that I was looking after for a friend. His company vehicle was a red Morris Traveller. Noel gave me a run down on the club and suggested that I attend the next monthly meeting. I did and haven't looked back since...it really gave me the imputus to get the car completed. The encouragement from other members was second to none..."

"I joined the club when I met Ian, meeting new friends and getting to know more about my favourite classic car, the Morris Minor/Traveller. I've enjoyed car shows for the last 3 summers and look forward to many more. The rallies and trips away are a great way of getting to know each other and I've made many good friendships along the way. Supporting Ian with the magazine has been great fun and I hope you enjoy the puzzle section."
